Farm
The person who turned the idea into reality and gave life to our eco-farm was Ing. Milan Jungwirth. In 1998, he decided to start implementing the Ecofarm Horní Chrášťany in a somewhat forgotten, but still extremely beautiful landscape at the foot of the Blanské Forest. His family business continued to farm 240 hectares of extensive pastures in organic farming mode, which continues to this day.
On the surrounding pastures you can now find a herd of about 200 cattle, mainly Aberdeen Angus and Limousin bulls. The animals graze naturally on the adjacent meadows and, of course, in the winter they have the opportunity to use the winter quarters on the premises of the eco-farm. During its operation, the eco-farm began to engage in agritourism, breeding milu deer, Dybowski sika deer, fallow deer, mouflon, and also fish production on its own adjacent Vnouček pond. Come and have a look and experience a walk around the pastures in beautiful nature.
Microbrewery
The Horní Chrášťany brewery was started by Ing. Milan Jungwirth to build an eco-farm in 2016-2017. After successfully building the entire eco-farm, boarding house, restaurant, game reserve and pond, his next dream came true – to brew his own beer from Chrášťany at the foot of the Blanský forest. The ceremonial opening of the brewery took place on July 22, 2017.
Wildlife park
The dream come true of the farm’s founder, for whom the forest and its wildlife were a lifelong passion. Here you can observe milu deer, Dybowski’s sika deer, fallow deer and mouflons undisturbed. You can watch them, for example, from a local seat.
Pond Vnouček
The Vnouček pond is part of the farm. It is adjacent to a small orchard, a deer enclosure and on its bank you will find two fishing cabins. The pond is for breeding with the possibility of pleasant swimming in clear water. We care for our pond like a treasure. A stay at the farm can thus include fishing, including the rental of fishing equipment.
In the pond there are carp in the range of 3 – 25 kg, koi carp, grass carp or zander. It is possible to rent a punt, use a small jetty or a small grassy beach for pleasant swimming or sunbathing. There are two residential fishing huts on the bank of the pond. So just cast a rod and pop into the brewery for a dewy one.
